Happy 2nd Birthday Cole!!

Cole is 2!!!!

Cole celebrated his 2nd Birthday on July 9, 2011. Nate and I were up all night finishing the playroom and putting together the Train Table. Below are some pictures of the room and the gifts from us.

We spent most of the day playing in the playroom then went to Lunch at Chick Fil-a. Thanks to Braden for Cole's B-day shirt.

Cole's B-day ending with a BLAST!! We have Kelly and Jesse's wedding in Hamilton. We had a great time. They even got Cole and HUGE cupcake and sang to him. He loved when the entire Reception hall sang "Happy Birthday". He also danced the night away.

Happy Mother's Day 2011

I had a great Mother's Day weekend with my family. Saturday we went to Nana Fisher's house for the day. Below are some pictures from our time on the Farm.

It was so cute to see Cole interact with Nana :)

On Sunday (Actual Mother's Day) Nettie and Paw Paw came over for lunch that Nate cooked for us. After Cole and I took naps, Nate, Cole and I headed to the Mall to pick out my Vera bag for my gift then headed to Koto Steakhouse where we enjoyed our Hibachi Dinner with the Bakers and the Trostle's. Along with my Vera bag, Cole gave me plaster hand print of his and of monkey's. I also received some Wallflower items from Bath and Body Works!

1st overnight stay in the Hospital

On Monday, April 25, 2011 Cole had his first overnight stay in the hospital. We had been to the ER the day before in Nashville, but Monday morning we were sent to Children's hospital by Ambulance from Cole's doctor's office. We were in the ER for about 3 hours then Cole was admitted for Reactive airway disease.

Here Cole is eating Lunch (Graham Crackers with Peanut Butter) in the ER.

Shortly after being admitted we ordered Cole lunch and Child Life delivered some toys. Both of these items really helped Cole. Below is his picnic lunch on his room floor.

The hardest part if being there was that he was hooked up to monitors and could not move around the room or out of the room. We had to keep him in one corner of the room so he could stay connected. This is easier said than done with any child, even harder for a child on Albuterol, which cause kids to be CRAZY!!! Cole was all over!! Cole did get some visitors. Kelly Shaffer, Danielle and Kate came to visit. It was good for mom, dad and Cole to see new faces. Neetie and Paw Paw also came up so Nate could run home to get stuff to stay the night. They brought all Cole's favorate toys from their house including the Trucks that he would drive back and forth under his bed.

Below is what they did for almost an hour.

Neetie and Paw Paw also bought him a Big Monkey that looks just like little monkey. It has now been added to the collection that he has to sleep with and carry around.

Cole did great Monday night and was ready to be discharged on Tuesday morning.

Below are pictures of Cole showing off his bed! He liked to stand and jump in it.

It sure was scary and hard. I sure hope we do not have to do another overnight stay anytime soon. Hopefully we will have all of this under control soon. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

Easter 2011- Tennessee

For Easter, we went to Tennessee!! Cole did pretty good on the drive down with only about a 20 minute spell of not being happy. The majority of the trip was spent outside of for us in a doctor's office or ER. Cole LOVES the outside. That is all he wanted to do. He really seems to have a great swing. We played a lot of T-ball and Corn hole.

Saturday morning we had to go to an Urgent Care to get a Breathing Treatment for Cole. He was really wheezing. They sent us back with an inhaler, antibiotic (for Bronchitis) and a steroid. Wow does the medicine make him WIRED. He had a terrible time sleeping and we sure were sleepy. We had a WONDERFUL time at Logan's T-ball game. They are the Braves so Amy and I bought Cole and Avery shirts to wear to the game.

Easter Sunday we woke up again early to a sick baby boy! Below is a picture of the kiddos with some Easter items on. As the rest of the family went to Church, Nate, Cole and I headed to the ER. Cole received two more breathing treatments and a chest x-ray. The x-ray came back normal, but he was really wheezing and having a hard time breathing. They discharged us and we headed home. Cole took a good nap and was a great traveler on the way back.

Cole's 1st day of "School"

Cole had his first 1st day of school on February 28, 2011. We switched him from Kim (which we will really miss) to Jelly Bean Junction Learning Center. It was time for him to be in a more structured, learning environment. He had a WONDERFUL first day!! The teacher said he was Happy and Active and fit in with the other kids like he had been there forever. He even took a nap on a cot which I was most worried about. When Nate went to pick him up he wasn't even ready to leave. We are hoping that the good days continue :) Below are some pictures from before we headed off to school!!

Happy 4th Anniversary

On February 17, 2011 Nate and I celebrated our 4th Wedding Anniversary!!! We had a lot planned. On the actual day we went to the park after work and school then had a GREAT dinner here. Friday we went to the Aquarium (see next post), Dewey's for lunch then the Glen Este Basketball Game. Saturday we had a nice quiet dinner out, just the two of us. Then we headed to one of our favorite hangouts, Champions! We love it there. We watched the UC game and hung out with great friends. Sunday and Monday we mostly just hung out at home. It was a great Anniversary weekend.

1st Trip to the Newport Aquarium

We went to the Aquarium on Nate's day off of school and had a blast. Cole LOVED all of the fish and water animals. We even got a membership for the next year so there will many more trips. Cole's favorite part was petting the sharks. Below are pictures from our day. We ended the trip with lunch at Dewey's and Cole was EXCELLENT!!

Valentine's Day 2011

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!

We had a great Valentines Day. The day started with Heart shaped Waffles for Cole.

Cole then had a Valentine's date with Ava (and Steph too). We attempted another picture of the two of them on the Red Chair. We have one of them when Cole was 5 months and 9 months. It was really hard to get them to sit still this time.

When Nate got home, look got to see their small gifts then we had a great dinner at home. I even made small heart cakes for each of them.

Cole even got a cute card from Neetie and Paw Paw.
