40 Week Appointment (a little early)

Just got back from the Doctor. I was supposed to have an appointment on Wednesday, but had some concern about some yellow discharge so I called the office and they wanted to see me today. I have lost 1 pound and my heart rate was 130 over 80.

The baby measured good and had a good heart beat. The doctor believes I may have a slight yeast infection, but it is nothing to worry about and I do not need to treat it at this time. I have to watch it and if it gets worse or if I have new symptoms then they well have me use some over the counter medication for it.

The doctor then checked me for progress and even the nurse had here fingers crossed... again, NO Dialation!! At least this time he said I was thining out, but he could not feel my cervix. I am beginning to believe this baby would stay in forever if it was up to him. I am trying to keep my spirits up as much as possible, but it is getting a little depressing. You just look forward to your due date your whole pregnancy, so the idea of going past it seems like the end of the world. Let's hope for some good progress this week.

I will be going back next Wednesday, July 8, for an Ultrasound, Stress Test and an appointment. AFTER that appointment we can then discuss inducing me. I will be trying to convince him to induce me that day to insure Nate will be there for the birth. Nate will miss the birth if it happens on July 11, due to a Master's Exit Exam, therfore, we will need to move fast after that appointment. Keep sending the positive thoughts and prayers. Baby Baughman needs to make his apperance soon.

39 weeks

SO, same news as last week... No progress. The Doctor said that the majority of women go into labor within 5 days before or after their due date- guess I cant get too frustrated yet. Everything is looking good. He is measuring good and is estimated to weigh in the low 7's right now and should be right around 8 pounds at birth. We will see how close the doctor guessed. His heart beat was 150, which is good.



I gained 2 lbs, but with the loss last week, we are even. They had a hard time getting my blood pressure today, but did eventually get it. It was 134/84 which is high for me, but not for someone who is 39 weeks pregnant during a smog alert. Only bad news is the doctor today said he will not induce me till I am between 41 and 42 weeks- YUCK!! I will ask the doctor I have next week in case he has a different opinion.

I am just hanging in there, counting down the days now. I guess I am too much of a planner to sit and not know when it will happen, but I will just have to learn to wait. I have a busy next two days, but then I have not much planned after Friday, so I may need some entertaining next week and the week after. We are all set- Nursery done, Car seat installed, and my bag is packed.

Next appointment is July 1st at 1:35pm (2 days before my due date)......

38 weeks....

well.... another appointment and another no progress to report. My Blood Pressure was down a little, which is good and I lost two pounds. Guess my work out video is helping me loose weight, not get the little guy to arriveearly so far, but loosing weight works for me. My measurements and the baby's heart rate were both great and the Doctor had no concerns. She said that there is no progress, but his head is right there ready to go!! I guess that is always a good thing.

I did share some concern that he was not moving as much as he has been so they put me on a monitor to measure the babies and my heartbeat for 20 minutes. He passed. They needed to see two large jumps in the 20 minutes and he had at least 5.

After the appointment, Nate and I had to have Skyline (since I was down two pounds) then we ran some errands. We have a small list of random things to do before the Baby Boy's big arrival. I am starting to get a little more tired, but still feeling GREAT! No complaints at all. Lots of action, movements, cramps, etc in the belly, but nothing to report yet. Keep checking back. Next appointment is June 24th!!

37 Weeks

I just got back from the doctor and there was no progress... DARN! The heartbeat was good and I am measuring great. The result from the Strep B test came back and it was negative, so no antibiotics during delivery for me.

My blood pressure was slightly high and I gained 1.5 pounds, but neither were a concern to the doctor. He said summer is a hard time to be this pregnant and that you retain more water which means more weight. At least he was nice about it, unlike another doctor I have seen. Guess that means I can eat as I wish- haha!

Next appointment- Wednesday June 17th!

36 week Appointment

Today was my 36 week Appointment. Everything is looking good. My blood presure was a little low, but nothing to worry about. I did describe a pain I had a Wednesday night and he confirmed it was a contraction. Nice to know I have had one and kinda know what to expect now.

The baby is measuring good and he is head down. I am feeling A TON of movement and the Dr. said it is his legs and knees. At this time I have no dilation, so lets hope for that at the next visit. My next appointment is June 11th.

I am still feeling really good. Surprisingly good to me. I have a ton of energy feel great! The getting bigger factor is not fun, but as long as I can get over that, I am doing great for being so pregnant.
