Getting REAL Close!!

He is almost here!! Megan had to take a break from pushing at 7:45 because they added some more pain medicine to her Epidural. She will resume pushing about 8am. She has been at it since about 5:15 and is doing great! He is turned to the side just a bit, but it isn't a big concern at this point.

Megan settled in after the Epidural and was able to get some much needed rest. She wasn't fully asleep (unlike Nate, who was out), but she was definitely relaxed and resting. Neetie and Paw-Paw Stojakovich returned just after the Epidural was put in and have been here helping out and keeping vigil. At 3:40, it was announced that Megan was fully dialated and fully efaced; YEAH!! She progressed very well over the course of the Princess Bride, which began playing at about 2am on the computer. Now, all she has to do is relax, wait, and he will be here before we know it! Megan is getting Oxygen to try and bring his heartbeat down, but all is well! Next time I post, Baby Boy Baughman should be here!! Don't know if he will have a name at that point, but all in good time.

5-6 cm!!!

It's 1:30, the Epidural is in, and she is feeling MUCH, MUCH better! Mom dialated from 3 to 6 cm in just over an hour!! If things continue to progress at this rate, there will be no Pitocin! Mom is doing great and is relaxing after some tough contractions for about 2 hours!!

Not just chillin' anymore!

Well, things are progressing. Megan has started to have beginning contractions and they are very painful for her! She has spent the last hour+ standing and working through the short bursts of painful contractions. She is doing awesome and we are just trying to work in little time increments. The Dr. will back at 2:30 and we will get an update from him on progress at that time. Stay tuned!!

Just Chillin'

Megan recieved the Cervidil at 2:30 this afternoon. This prepares/softens the cervix and the normal course of this is 12 hours! They then have to wait an hour before they give her Pitocin, so it will be close to 4am before she really gets going. There is a slight chance that the Cervidil could put her into labor, but that usually doesn't happen. She is trying to get comfortable, but it is very hard at this point. Her back is hurting, but she is tough and knows that there is much, much more to come!

We have a great room all to ourselves and it has lots of space! The nurses have been great and the food at the hospital is surprisingly good. Megan ordered chicken strips and fries for lunch and I went downstairs and had a deli sandwich. We were both very pleased! Megan is even allowed to eat dinner (unless she goes into active labor), so her mom and dad are going to bring us Izzy's for dinner!! That will probably be her last meal until the little guy arrives.

At the hospital! YEA!!!!

Baby's Daddy here! Well, we are at the hospital (Mercy Anderson) and waiting to see the doctor. Megan had an appointment this morning at 10 and after the ultrasound revealed that there was low fluid, the doctor sent us straight to the hospital!! She was allowed to eat lunch, which was a big relief to her! She is going to receive Cervidil to get her ready and then she will recieve her Pitocin after midnight, probably around 2 or 3 am. At this point, it looks like Baby Boy Baughman will arrive sometime tomorrow!!

Megan is doing well, just playing the waiting game. We were excited to put updates on Facebook, but it is blocked here at the hospital, so we will be doing all our updates here on the blog. Overdue and Name Winner

well, I am officially overdue! I would not say it is the best feeling to know that the date I have looked forward to for 9 months has came and gone, but it is still bearable at this time. I am still trying to stay busy and active, but it is getting a bit harder with each day. I am getting pretty large and uncomfortable and my maternity tops are even becoming too short to wear. Pretty soon I wont be able to go anywhere that I cant wear a t-shirt :) Hopefully Baby Boy Baughman decides to arrive sooner than later.

On another note... looks like Cole is the winning name!!! That is Nate's pick, so I wonder if he just voted for it every day- haha. We dont even know what the little guys name will be, we will be waiting to name him until we see him the day he arrives. Stay tuned.... hopefully there will be Baby news soon!
